ABOUT KARL

Karl Amundson is a writer/composer and performer based out of New York City. He is a graduate of The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he received his BFA in Musical Theatre.

 

Karl wrote music and lyrics for the new musical Falling Forward, in collaboration with book-writer Emily Fink. Falling Forward was a 2020 finalist for the New York Musical Festival (NYMF), and is in ongoing development. In 2020, Karl was named a finalist in Taylor Louderman's Write Out Loud contest for his song Purple Chucks. In 2019, Karl wrote Myths and Magic: A Life Star Is Born! with Adam Zeph for New London Barn Playhouse's Education Program, and developed Rhapsody: A Musical Podcast with Adam in 2018. Karl's latest project is the new musical Lenora DuPonte: Live On Mars!,  devised with Emily Fink, Katie Langham, and AC Horton. 

As an actor, Karl has been seen at The Muny, The Guthrie, The Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis, and Santa Rosa Summer Repertory Theatre. Karl is a proud member of AEA.
