ABOUT KARL
Karl Amundson is a writer/composer, performer and music educator based out of New York City. He is a graduate of The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he received his BFA in Musical Theatre, and he is a professional voice instructor pursuing accreditation through the Institute of Vocal Advancement (IVA). Karl works as an Associate Teacher with EKM Vocal Studio.
As a composer, Karl's works in development include the new musicals Falling Forward (2023 Eugene O'Neill NMTC Semi-Finalist, named a "Show You Should Know" by the National Alliance of Musical Theatre in 2023, selected for the 2023 NAMT Playlist, selected for the 2020 New York Musical Festival) and Lenora DuPonte: Live On Mars! (Invited to perform at the The Tank’s 2022 TrashFest). Karl also worked as a music supervisor and arranger on the musical Pitch In!, written by Taylor Louderman, Hannah Kloepfer, and Nat Zegree.
As a commercial writer, Karl’s music has been commissioned by Proctor & Gamble, Morgan & Morgan Injury Law Firm, The Ladies Who Brunch Podcast, and the EKM Vocal Studio Singing Series. Karl writes and performs short songs on his TikTok, @musicwithkarl, where he has 64K+ followers!

Together with collaborator Tom Meglio, Karl created Ze Follies Doree, a musical-comedy variety show that draws its inspiration from American musical theatre, the mythos of the Moulin Rouge , and the irreverent bacchanalia of our modern times. As an actor, Karl has been seen on CBS' East New York, at The Muny, The Guthrie, The Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis, and Santa Rosa Summer Repertory Theatre. Karl is a proud member of AEA.
